Alternative method to view WiFi password from phone

If, after following the instructions I gave you in the course of this guide, you still have not managed see the WiFi password of your phone, you can try to solve the problem by accessing router administration panel generated by the network itself.

First, after connecting to the Wi-Fi network of interest, you need to find the IP address of the router by following the instructions that best suit your operating system.

  • Android  - go to Settings> Network and Internet> Wi-Fi, I touched network name to which you are connected and then in the voice advanced : the information you are looking for is in the entry.

  • iOS - tap the icon adjustments, go to the section Wi-Fi and touch the button (S) placed in the RED you are connected to the address you are looking for is specified next to the router.

Now start the browser that you usually use to surf the Internet (eg. Google Chrome o safari ) and connected to the address retrieved previously. After a few moments, you should see a screen requesting input from the Username and password router, or just the last one.

If this information has never changed, try logging in with admin / admin o admin / password, which are the default combinations for most network devices. If you can't log in with this information, you can refer to my guide on how to view the modem password to deal with the problem.

Once you are logged in, access the main menu of the router (you may have to press the ☰ button or something similar) and use the suggested elements to locate the section related to Wi-Fi settings and / or network security. If everything went well, the information you were looking for should reside in one of the fields that appear on the next screen, presumably called password.

For example, referring to the router in my possession (a AVM Fritz! Box 7530 with proprietary interface), you must open the main menu by tapping the ☰ button and access the panel dedicated to displaying the network key, tapping the items Wi-Fi y fullfilment of security requirements. The password is specified, in plain text, within the field Wireless network key.

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide you with additional details on what to do as I don't know the router model you are using. And, for obvious reasons, I can't list all the procedures you can use. However, if you want more tips on Netgear, D-Link or TP-Linko brand devices on AliceFastwebInfostrada or Vodafone modems, you can take a look at the tutorials I have devoted to these devices.

note - If the router's Wi-Fi network password has never been changed, you can also get it from the attached label to the device (usually located on the bottom of the device or on the side), in its sales package or, again, in the user manual
