Sport app. If you love running and are reading these lines, I bet you'd like some advice on which one running app install it on your mobile phone or tablet to help you keep track of your workouts and sports performances.

In the following paragraphs of this guide, I am going to list some useful apps for the purpose that are easy to use and free (at least in their basic functions). Of course, I will not only list them: I will also explain how to best use some of them, so that you will not have a problem using them.

Free sport app

Runkeeper (Android/iOS)

The first solution I want to talk to you about is RunKeeper. This application is available for devices Android and iOS and it is possible to download it for free, although I want to tell you that some advanced monitoring functions are available exclusively in its paid version, which costs 9,99 euros / month.

To use it, install and start Runkeeper and register for the service. To do this, press the button Register and decide if you sign up with yours Email or using your account Facebook o google.

After choosing the registration option you prefer, all you have to do is follow the instructions that you will receive on the screen.

After registration follow the short informative tutorial that appears on the screen and once you have reached the Runkeeper main screen press the item activities.

Later, if necessary, select the option career from the open menu and confirm the operation by pressing the button to accept.

At this point, configure a possible training, pressing on training and selecting one of the available options.

You also decide whether you want to receive audio statistics or not, using the redaction statistics audio, and indicates if you want to listen music or not during the activity, in music located in the lower left.

Now press the button casa located at the bottom of the screen and start your career. When it's time to stop training, tap the button break, located at the bottom of the screen, in the center.

If you want to stop the execution permanently, remember to press the button stop / stop  and then to select the item OK I'm done from the menu that opens.

Adidas Running (Android / iOS)

In an article dedicated to Best Apps guidance on run, it is impossible not to mention Adidas Running, developed by Runtastic in collaboration with Adidas. AND

It is a solution that can be downloaded for free on Android and iOS, but also offers the possibility of accessing specific training plans and additional functions, upon subscription to the Premium subscription, which starts at € 9.99 / month.

Once you have installed and started Adidas Running on your device, press the button siguiente  and provide access through your account Facebook, your account google or your address Email.

After registration, provide the application with the data it needs to function at its best height y weight, Press the button siguiente and after granting you the permissions you need to be fully functional press the button again siguiente.

Now, select the activity career, indicates the period training session and the type of objective you want to set and remember save the configuration that has changed, using the element Save.

Then press the button siguiente and eventually connect your smart intelligence to the application (if it is among those supported). Select the name of the device (ex. Garmin, Apple Watch, etc.) and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the procedure.

If you don't have a compatible device to connect to, tap the button Here we are!, to continue anyway.

When you're ready to start running, tap the button start  located at the bottom of the screen and start training.

When your run is over, stop it by sliding the button from left to right Scroll pause. Then press the buttons final y Save.

At the end of the race, you will be offered a screen containing a summary report on the training done, which you can also see later, going to the section progreso by Adidas Running.

Strava GPS (Android / iOS)

Another application that you must try, if you want to monitor your careers, is the very famous Strava-GPS. As with the solutions mentioned in the previous chapters, Strava GPS can also be downloaded for free on Android and iOS / iPadOS, but some of its functions are the exclusive prerogative of users who subscribe to the Premium subscription, which begins in 6,99 euros per month.

After installing and starting Strava GPS, to use the application, you must register with the service: you can do it through your account Facebook, your account google or, if you prefer, your address Email.

Once the registration has been made, if necessary, close all the screens that illustrate the operation of the application, to start using it.

If you have a terminal Android touch the button capacitor positive (+) lead and select the items Register activity> race.

If you have a device iOS, instead touch the item record located at the bottom of the screen, then at the symbol of shoe and make sure the option is selected career from the open menu (if not, select the option in question).

Now you just need to press the button casa, located at the bottom of the screen, and start your workout.

When it is necessary to stop the run, remember to also stop your recording by tapping the button. parade which is at the bottom of the screen and then on the buttons arrival y Save activity.

Then go to the section profile of the application, to show the statistics of the training that we have just done. In Android, you can go to the latter by pressing the button (≡) located in the upper left and touching yours name ; In iOSinstead, you can reach the section in question simply by touching the text profile, which is located in the lower right.

Other running apps

There are plenty of other running apps available for free on Android and iOS - below you can find a summary list of some of the best ones.

  • Endomondo (Android / iOS): one of the most used applications for tracking races. In addition to its simple and intuitive user interface, Endomondo offers integration with the MyFitnessPal app, to offer you advice on proper nutrition to follow during training. Endomondo is also available in a Premium version, with an annual subscription of € 21.99 or a monthly subscription of € 3.49.

 

  • run meter (Android / iOS): This application makes its immediacy and simplicity of use its main strength. The main features of Runmeter are available for free. , but it is possible to purchase the Elite version of the application that offers several additional features, including integration with Apple Watch on iOS. The subscription starts at 10,99 euros.

 

  • Nike Run Club (Android / iOS): application that, as you can guess by its name, is developed by Nike and is specifically aimed at those who love to run. Not only does it allow you to monitor your activity, but also compare yourself to other users in the community, plan personalized training programs and much more.
