Programs for join videos. Do you have some videos saved on your PC that you would like to combine into one video but you don't know how to do it? Have you downloaded a movie from Internet that you would like to "group" into a single file but don't know which resources to use? Don't worry… you've come to the right guide at the right time. Today, I would like to point out which ones I think are the best programs to join videos.

I'm going to talk about both free and paid tools, both for Windows and for Mac (as well as for Linux), both very simple to use and with slightly more advanced settings. Using them, you can join two or more videos, even when they have different properties or formats, all without wasting time. You will see that the end result will be effective.

The best programs to join videos

Avidemux (Windows / Mac / Linux)

The first of the useful resources for the purpose I want to talk about is Avidemux. Calling it a video joining program is an understatement. It is a software of edition useful video that allows you edit, cut, combine and apply special effects to videos in all the main formats through a rather spartan but very intuitive interface.

It allows you to work both in direct mode and in full processing mode. This means that when you use it to cut or join two videos of the same format (they must also have the same technical characteristics to be able to join), to save the end result is not necessary to perform a new compression. It's free and works on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

To use it for your purpose, first download the program on your PC by connecting to its website and then clicking on the link FossHub what do you find below name of operating system you are using.

When the download is complete, if you are using Windows, open the file.exe obtained and click on run. Then press up on following, en I agree, en siguiente three more times in install and in finished.

If you are using a Mac instead, open the downloaded .dmg package and drag the program icon to the folder applications through the window of the Finder that opened on the desk. Then right click on it and choose open twice in a row, to start the program bypassing Apple's limitations.

Now that you see the program window on your screen, click on the icon of a binder which is in the upper left corner and select the first video. Once imported, click on the menu Archives (Files) top left, click Add and select the other movie.

If necessary, you can change the resolution of the movies using the editing functions attached to the program, which you can access by first clicking on the menu video and then filtros.

Finally, indicate the format in which to save the final file by selecting the video codec of your choice from the drop-down menu Video output which is on the left.

Then enter the audio codec through the menu Audio output located on the left, otherwise, even in this case, you can leave the original set by leaving selected copy. Using the menu Output container you can define the type of container to use.

To save the final file, go to the menu Archives, click on Save, specify the destination location and wait for the files to be processed.

Free Video Joiner (Windows)

Free Video Joiner is another one of the video bonding programs that you should consider. It is free, for Windows and is particularly suitable for less experienced users, or in any case for those who want to unify their videos without thinking too much.

Unlike other similar software, it allows you to join videos in different formats (AVI, WMV, MOV, MPEG, MPG) and get files in AVI, WMV, MOV, DVD, VCD or movies for mobile devices. Of course, it requires file recompression.

To use it, first download it to your PC by connecting to the program's website and clicking the button Download.

When the download is complete, open the obtained .exe file and press run and in ok. Then press siguiente, select the article I accept the terms (I agree) and press  siguiente four times, install y finished.

Now that you see the window Free Video Joiner on your desktop, click the button Add and select the videos you want to go to to perform in the exact order you want to join them.

Indicate the format you want to assign to the final file by selecting the one you prefer from the section Output format which is in the lower left.

Finally, select the folder in which to save the unified video by clicking the button select and start the procedure by clicking the button join Bottom right. And There you go!

Machete Lite (Windows)

Another video joining program that I would recommend is Machete Lite. It is a small software mainly designed to cut video files into multiple segments, but it can be used without any problem to put them together, provided they have the same technical characteristics.

Supports AVI / WMV format files and direct save of movies without recompressions. It's free (but it's also available in a paid variant with additional features) and it's only for Windows.

To use it for your purpose, connect to your website and click the button Download that you find on the right, below FREE Machete Lite,  to download the program to your PC.

When the download is complete, open the obtained .msi file and press run. Give to siguiente, select I agree and click again on siguiente three times, then on ok and in close.

Now launch the program by double clicking on the relevant link that has been added to the desktop and then clicking on the icon of a yellow folder found in the toolbar attached to the Machete Lite window and select the first video you want to act on.

Then, place the time bar cursor at the bottom at the exact point where you want to join the second movie, click the button with the movie found on the toolbar and select the second movie.

Finally, click on the menu Archive, select the article Save as …, indicate the location on your PC where you want to save the output file and press the button Save. Then wait for the unification process of the two videos to start and complete.

VirtualDub (Windows)

Very popular in the field of free Windows video editing programs, VirtualDub offers a quick and easy way to cut, split, and merge videos. It also includes a wide range of special filters that allow you to correct and transform the appearance of films in various ways.

It allows you to work in both direct-stream copy and full-processing mode, with video and audio recompression. To use it, the videos to be joined must have the same technical characteristics.

To use it, connect to the program's website and click on the link Download the release version Vx.xx.x (x86 / 32-bit) (VirtualDub-x.xx.x.zip), to download the program to your PC.

When the download is complete, remove the ZIP archive obtained in any position of your PC and start the file VirtualDub.exe contained within it. Click on runon the button Start VirtualDub and in to accept.

Now that you see the main program window on your desktop, click on the entry Archives located in the menu bar, press Open video file ... and select the first video.

Once this is done, click again on the menu Archives  and press Add segment (file format) (instead of (file format) find the current file format) and then select the other video. Repeat for all the video files you want to join.

If you want the program not to re-encode the videos, also click on the item video attached to the menu bar and select the option Direct Flow Copy. Otherwise, leave the option selected Complete processing.

Finally, expand the menu Archives, select Save as (file format) (instead of (file format) find the current file format), name the output video, indicate the location on your PC where you want to save it and click the button Save.

VobMerge (Windows)

In an article focused on which are the best programs to join videos, it is necessary to mention VOBMerge. It is a tool that allows you to join videos in VOB format, that is, videos extracted directly from video DVD.

It is very small, free, no installation and only for OS Windows. Also, the file merging process is very fast as it does not involve a complete rework of the videos.

To use it, connect to the program's website and click on the link Download: VOBMerge x.xx Remixed that you find under the name of the software, to start downloading it immediately to your PC.

When the download is complete, remove the ZIP archive Obtained from any position in Windows, open the .exe file contained in it and press run.

Now that you see the program window on your desktop, click Add file (s) ... on the right and select the VOB files you want to merge.

Then press the button To combine, indicates the location where you intend to save the output file and wait for the procedure to start and then complete.

iFFmpeg (Mac)

Have a Mac and looking for another program? Then try iFFmpeg. This is an excellent graphical tool for FFmpeg, a famous free and open source movie processing command line software.

It is quite simple to use and offers numerous options. Unfortunately, it is not free, but you can download the free trial version (as I did to elaborate this step) that works without limitations for a maximum period of 10 days.

To download it, connect to the program's website and click the button Try now. When the download is complete, open the package in .dmg format you just got, click the button agree in the window that opens and drag its icon to the folder applications.

Then go to the folder applications of macOS, right click on the program icon and choose open  twice.

Once done, you will be prompted to download FFmpeg and copy it to the main iFFmpeg window. To do this, connect to the FFmpeg website, hit the first link in the left sidebar, and wait for the download to start and complete.

Reply with I have it to the FFmpeg download request and indicates your willingness to use the demo version of the software. Then open the previously downloaded FFmpeg .dmg package, drag its icon in iFFmpeg main window and confirm the installation procedure run by first clicking on Use and copy to the Application Support / iFFmpeg folder and in to accept.

Now, drag the videos to merge them into the main iFFmpeg window, click the button with a clip placed in the top center and press Start.

If the movies you have selected have the same format, no recording will be made. Otherwise, you can indicate in which format to save the final file from the menu Fusion mode, selecting the option Re-encode and deselect the option Same way as the source.
